Underground Economy

Also known as the informal economy and the off-the-books economy, the underground economy consists of economic activities whether legal or illegal that people don't report to the government.

The largest source of illegal income is probably drug dealing. The million or so illegal immigrants who enter other countries each year are also part of the underground economy. Often called undocumented workers they work for employers who either ignore their fake Social Security cards or pay them in cash.
