Role Expectations

In order to perform effectively to validate one's social position the actor must learn either at first hand what performances are associated with what positions. He must be acquainted with certain sectors of social system, obligations, privileges, rights and duties as the defining characteristics of each position. Role expectations may be viewed as actions or qualities expected of the occupant of a position. It is viewed as actions and codified. Expectations must be inferred from overt conduct, including self-reports etc.
