Main Branches of Anthropology

Anthropology has several branches and many sub-branches. The elementary branch of socio-cultural anthropology is the broadest and the longest of all having several sub-branches. Physical and biological anthropology is another major branch. Archaeological anthropology is an intermediary branch between the two main branches. While linguistic anthropology, applied anthropology and ecological anthropology are sub-branches of socio-cultural anthropology, ethno-archaeology has emerged as a major methodological branch at archaeological anthropology.
